How the catalogue is assembled.
We keep a numbered catalogue and revise it slowly.
The catalogue was first a notebook: pieces bought, worn, and kept. It became a shop only after the notebook had survived a few years without much editing.
Plain dealing
Facts first. Opinion after, and clearly marked as such.
Continuity
An entry kept is an entry revised, not replaced.
Restraint
The shortest honest description beats the longest persuasive one.
Where the entries come from
Every entry is photographed, measured and priced before it is listed. What is not in stock is not in the catalogue.
Returns run thirty days from delivery, unworn with tags. Faulty or misdescribed pieces are collected at our cost.
